Anthony's Take on Treatment

"Beginning therapy and facing OCD and anxiety can feel intimidating, especially when fear, doubt, or intrusive thoughts have been controlling your choices for a long time. I believe asking for support is a sign of courage, not weakness. Therapy should be a place where you feel accepted, understood, and encouraged without judgment. My own experiences with anxiety, OCD, depression, and loss have shaped the way I view both the difficulty of these struggles and the possibility of recovery. I know how powerful it can be to find the right support, learn effective tools, and begin reclaiming parts of your life that fear may have taken away. I feel honored to support clients as they face difficult moments, recognize their strength, and work toward a life that feels more confident, fulfilling, and free."

Approach to Therapy

Anthony believes that effective therapy begins with a strong and trusting relationship. He works to create a compassionate, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, supported, and comfortable being themselves. He recognizes that each person’s experiences, needs, and goals are different, so he takes a collaborative and individualized approach to treatment.

Anthony uses evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He helps clients understand the patterns that may be keeping them stuck while developing practical skills to face fears, manage difficult emotions, and respond differently to intrusive thoughts and anxiety. His goal is not only to help clients experience relief from symptoms, but also to build confidence, strengthen self-esteem, and create a life that feels meaningful and consistent with their values.

He is comfortable involving family members, supportive others, and providers in the treatment process and believes this is necessary for effective treatment.

Experience and Training

Anthony earned his bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago and his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families.  Anthony has supported clients experiencing OCD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, mood disorders, psychosis, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and significant life transitions. His clinical training in a hospital setting provided him with extensive experience supporting individuals facing complex and serious mental health concerns. Anthony is especially passionate about working with clients experiencing OCD and anxiety disorders. He completed the “Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for OCD” training through the Cognitive Behavior Institute and continues to build his knowledge of evidence-based  treatment for OCD, anxiety, and related concerns. He is committed to helping clients gradually face fears, reduce avoidance, and regain a greater sense of freedom in their daily lives.

More About Anthony

Anthony grew up in a large Italian family, which taught him the importance of connection, loyalty, family, and showing up for the people he cares about. These values continue to influence the warmth and commitment he brings to his work as a therapist.

Outside of work, Anthony enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and his orange cat, Sofia. He also enjoys working out, reading, language learning, building LEGO sets, cooking, exploring new places, trying new foods, and relaxing with a movie, podcast, or video game.
