Cassie’s Take on Treatment
“Taking the step to start therapy and face your fears can be challenging. I am passionate about helping you approach your fears so you can be the best version of yourself. I take a collaborative approach to tailor therapy that best supports you and your goals so you can begin to live a more values-based life.”
Approach to Therapy
Cassie’s approach to therapy involves a strong therapeutic relationship to ensure a safe space as well as a collaboration between the client’s goals and their values in order to start the process of change. She specializes in providing evidence-based therapies for children, teens, and adults who struggle with anxiety, OCD, depression and anxiety related disorders. She takes the time with each client to understand the nature of the anxiety and how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors reinforce their symptoms before crafting a treatment plan. She begins by educating clients about anxiety and what maintains it. Cassie specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). These treatments have the most research support for their effectiveness for OCD and anxiety disorders. Cassie also teaches coping skills to help reduce stress and learn to tolerate and live with anxiety. She is comfortable working with children, teens and adults and believes in the importance of involving significant others, parents and other supportive others in the treatment process. She is also dedicated to continuing to teach and attend trainings and conferences related to OCD, anxiety, and related disorders.
