Katherine's Take on Treatment:

It takes a tremendous amount of courage to show up to that first meeting and for many, it is one of the hardest things that they will ever do.  A person’s commitment to change combined with the philosophy that I am being hired to provide a service, backed by my genuine interest, motivation, skills, and connection with the patient is key.

In many ways, I have lived by the following:

“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.  When the student is truly ready….the teacher will disappear” - Tao Te Ching

It is an absolute joy to share in all the successes, solutions, epiphanies, insights, and changes that occur. It is bittersweet, yet it is always an honor to be a part of the process.

Approach to Therapy:

Dr. Dahlberg’s approach is easy going and non- judgmental.  Valuing the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for change, her down to earth style and sense of humor helps to establish normalcy and connection. A great coach and motivator- she appreciates self-determination and creating a space for safety and hope.

Although she approaches her work by “meeting people where they are at” she supports a strengths-based perspective, and enthusiastically works with you to realize your own potential, and resiliencies to combat anxiety. She has a strong background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure Based Therapy and is comfortable working with children, teens and adults.  She strongly believes in incorporating parents, providers and supportive others in the treatment process

Dr. Dahlberg’s combined training and experiences underpins a relatable component, which supports her genuine belief in the power of change and lasting improvements toward quality of life.
