A Focused IOP for OCD
The OCD Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Recovery DBT is designed for individuals whose intrusive thoughts, fears, and compulsive behaviors are interfering with daily life. OCD goes far beyond visible rituals. It often involves distressing, unwanted thoughts and urges that drive behaviors meant to reduce anxiety, but instead keep the cycle going.
Our program helps clients understand OCD at its core and learn how to respond differently to intrusive thoughts without engaging in compulsions or avoidance. Through a structured, evidence-based approach, clients build the skills needed to tolerate uncertainty, reduce distress, and regain a sense of control over their lives.

Four Days of Group Therapy
Our OCD Intensive Outpatient Program includes four days of group therapy per week and is designed to support individuals struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorder and related anxiety conditions. The program integrates evidence-based DBT skills with gold-standard OCD treatment approaches, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Both in-person and virtual options are available.
Clients build core DBT skills to regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and reduce compulsive urges while actively learning how to face obsessions, uncertainty, and anxiety without engaging in rituals or avoidance. Mindfulness and interpersonal effectiveness are woven throughout the program to help clients relate differently to intrusive thoughts, strengthen relationships, and support long-term, values-driven behavior change.

Individual One-on-One Therapy
You’ll receive specialized OCD treatment through Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). In collaboration with the DBT team, your therapist will also develop a personalized treatment plan to help you apply core DBT skills such as Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance and Emotion Regulation, to real life situations.
You’ll work closely with our treatment team to develop a personalized treatment plan that targets the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral patterns that maintain obsessive-compulsive disorder and related anxiety.

Psychiatric Support
As part of our comprehensive approach, clients in the OCD IOP will also have access to ongoing psychiatric support. Our psychiatric team works in close collaboration with your DBT therapist and OCD therapist.
Whether it’s assessing medication needs, managing symptoms, or providing regular check-ins, our goal is to support your mental wellness with thoughtful, individualized care that complements the therapeutic work you’re doing each week.
